expertise and consultancy

The Ecogeos team offers its services for expertise and consultancy missions applied to infrastructures. Acknowledged for our technical and scientific expertise, we are fully committed to offering each of our clients an optimized conception approach for their infrastructure projects.

Ecogeos offers the following services:

Feasibility studies for the design of facilities

Assistance to the Contracting Authority, project supervision

Expertise in environmental engineeringe

Instrumentation and monitoring of equipments

Modeling and calculations

Technical and regulatory surveillance and audit

References and expertise

On behalf of firms, public authorities as well as institutional partners in France and abroad, Ecogeos conducts studies and produces technical and economic data for the conception and optimization of treatment infrastructures.

Diagnoses, EQRS and project supervision for the remediation of several public sanitary landfills (Plœmeur, 2015-2017)

Project supervision for Antananarivo’s integrated sanitation program in Madagascar (AFD, 2016-2019)

Environmental monitoring of classified installations (Trigone, 2014-2019)

Audit for the construction of a waste treatment and recovery facility in the island of Mayotte (European Union, 2012)

Survey about the public costs of non-hazardous waste landfilling (ADEME, 2012).

With the expertise of its team of engineers, Ecogeos is able to contribute to numerous technical guides. Some of them have become references at the national scale:

Recommendation guide for the design of non-hazardous waste landfill extensions (French Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Sea, conducted by the Bureau of Mines and Geology)

Good practices guide for geologic, hydrogeologic and geotechnical measures on non-hazardous waste landfill sites (AFNOR Technical guide BP X30-438).

Project support

Ecogeos supports its clients in their projects with an approach of organizational and political governance that is co-constructed with the local actors.

With a view to circular economy, this branch covers a very wide range of missions:

Strategic thinking

States of the art and diagnoses

Development of methods and tools

Socioeconomic and environmental studies

Characterization of natural and anthropic materials for the purpose of their optimized management

Support to programs related to waste prevention and/or recovery

Assessments and prospective analyses

References and expertise

Ecogeos distinguishes itself by its ability to mobilize transversal skills to accompany its clients in their projects:  environmental engineering and social sciences are associated according to the needs. Our expertise in waste characterization provides us knowledge about waste flows on territories and is a support for prevention and governance efforts for waste managements.

Our skills in design and conducting of surveys are useful to analyze the practices and needs of communities as well as territorial issues to which public authorities are confronted.

Coupled with regulatory and economic analyses, these diagnoses lead Ecogeos to identify action levers and to provide recommendations, within the framework of Local Prevention Plans or Zero Waste initiatives for example.

Examples of missions

Local and national campaigns of household and similar waste characterizations (ADEME, 2017)

Assistance to the animation of the “A3P” network (a national network of public authorities engaged in waste prevention) through the writing of targeted monographs about exemplary Zero Waste territories - ADEME, 2017-2019)

Assistance for the impact assessment of the future extension of waste sorting instructions and the establishment of standard patterns (European Metropolis of Lille, 2017)

Assistance for the optimization of household waste recycling and the implementation of special fees (Pays de Mormal Community, 2017-2018)

Assessment of Local Prevention Programs from 2010 to 2017 (ADEME Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, 2017-2018)

Assistance to the completion of a masterplan study for public waste collection sites 2017-2020 (in partnership with Espelia and Recovering - Grenoble Alpes Métropole 2017-2018)

research & Innovation

Ecogeos is at the heart of an approach to innovation through its transdisciplinary research activities. The “Research and innovation” branch enables us to develop new knowledge and expertise that can be useful to the two other activity branches for their missions. It also leads us to offer research services for industrials, associations, public authorities and institutions.

The Research and Innovation branch covers the following activities:

Literature reviews

Data mining and analysis

Design and performance of research projects

Technical and scientific animation of research projects

Implementation of synergies between academic, institutional and industrial actors

Trainings on our expertise topics

Promotion of new knowledge through publications and seminars

References and expertise

Research works conducted by Ecogeos rely on crossed skills in environmental engineering and social science in order to enlighten the complex stakes of the environment and territories. Thanks to their solid training, Ecogeos research engineers show great methodologic rigor and writing skills.

Ecogeos contributes to the  production of knew knowledge as part of research projects to which the team members participate:

“Management of Waste and Effluents containing Nanomaterials – Potential exposure of Humans and the Environment” Project (ADEME, RECORD, 2017-2018)

“TI AMO” project (Pay-As-You-Throw scheme: actors, modalities and obstacles) (ADEME, 2018 - 2019)

Partners: Ecogeos, Triangle joint research center (UMR 5206), Lyon 1 S2HEP laboratory, Irstea, Zero Waste France association

COPRODIS project: “Conflicts and speech production around non-hazardous waste sanitary landfills” (ADEME, 2011-2015)

Partners: INSA Lyon, Ecogeos, Irstea

PARAPHYME project: “Physical-mechanical parameters” (ADEME, 2009-2012)

Partners: Ecogeos, ANTEA, BRGM, COVED, Grenoble LTHE

Ecogeos is part of a dynamic of synergy implementation between academic, institutional and industrial actors through the development of public-private partnerships. Collaboration agreements were signed in this sense with the University of Grenoble, the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) of Lyon and IRSTEA for the sharing of laboratory devices and the education of engineers-in-training and doctors (CIFRE agreements: Industrial Agreements for Training through Research).

Thanks to its contribution to research, Ecogeos received support from financial partners such as the BPI (French Public Investment Bank) and obtained the “Expert organism” certification.

The activities of Ecogeos rely on a transversal approach and are organized around three complementary branches, depending on the needs and issues.
